IT for Change, with support from the European Commission, is exploring alternative digital platform models for the empowerment of women workers and farmers. One of the research sites of IT for Change is Vrutti’s digital initiatives for farmer empowerment.

IT for Change is looking to recruit consultants with familiarity of the research site to support this research process. The detailed job description is enclosed below.

Job Description

• Field/Site: Vrutti
• Position: Senior
• Title: Field Consultant
• Duration of contract: April 2022 – June 2024
• Compensation: Maximum fee up to Rs. 9,10,000.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Consultant:

1. Coordinate with the Junior Field Consultant and team members of Vrutti to manage field data collection at the project research site
2. Monitor and report on the status of the baseline
3. Conducting field monitoring survey with cohort samples on a regular basis
4. Collection, collation and analysis of data and sharing the reports with IT for Change as per agreed formats
5. Support the IT for Change team in gathering of insights and development of case stories
6. Sharing the feedback and suggestions to the Vrutti field team and ensuring the actions implemented
7. Participating in regular meetings, trainings, and workshop based on needs
8. Fulfilling any other requirements as per the project need

Required Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field
2. Basic knowledge of software such as MS Office, specifically Word and Excel
3. Ability to work as part of a team
4. Minimum 8 years previous experience of working in a development organisation
5. Demonstrated project management skills
6. Experience coordinating surveys
7. Familiarity with the agriculture sector and value chains
8. Proficient in Tamil or Kannada and English
